Our studio can become your office for the afternoon during Open Studio hours here at The Paper + Craft Pantry.

We've opened up our doors to invite you to join us in a collaborative setting to get work done before each weekend. Every week, we host Open Studio for our community here in Austin.

What is Open Studio?
Open Studio is a donation (optional, but encouraged) based co-working time and space for small business owners who work from home, freelancers who work from coffee shops, and even for folks who just want a time to network with other go-getters.

When is Open Studio?
This month we'll be hosting Open Studio on Friday, August 4th, 11th, 18th and 25th from noon to 5pm. Come and go as you please! 

Where do my donations go?
We partner up with local non-profits every quarter to give back to the community. 100% of donations received during our Friday Open Studio this quarter will go toward Open Arms, a local non-profit dedicated to empowering refugee women through fair-trade employment.

What can I bring in to work on?
Whatever you are working on! Your lap top to knock out emails, edit photos, draft a blog post, read a book you're reading, a knitting project you are working on, painting a new design for your stationery brand... the sky is literally the limit :)

SBS #IRL Panel: Brick + Mortar Myths Revealed


Join us for our third Small Business School #IRL panel! 

Community is at our core and these quarterly panels have been a way for us to share some incredible local business owners with you! 

For this panel, we'll be discussing everything about small business from an operations standpoint. Deciding what platform is best to grow your business or sell your products/services can feel like a science. How do you choose which one is right for you? 

These small business owners on our panel come from different industries and have taken different paths to get to where they are today. And they'll be here to share all of it with you!

The Fine Goods Market is back for our 5th pop-up event!

Join us on Friday, September 1st for another incredible showcase of Austin's best handmade and vintage vendors! You'll get a chance to meet local makers + designers and shop their wares, sip on complimentary drinks, nibble on locally made treats while enjoy an evening of music and mingling! 

This market will benefit a local non-profit chapter and a portion of every dollar made at this market will go directly to their cause.

Sarah K. Benning Embroidery Workshops

We're so excited to host Sarah Benning in our studio in October! She'll be hosting 3 classes over 2 days (Sunday, October 15th and Tuesday, October 17th).

A little more about Sarah:

Sarah K. Benning is an American fiber artist with a nomadic studio practice (primarily splitting her time between the U.S. and Spain).  Originally from Baltimore, she attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and received her BFA in Fiber and Material Studies.  Shortly after graduating in 2013, Sarah discovered her love for embroidery almost by accident and the hobby quickly turned into her full-time career. Sarah primarily works from home in New Hampshire.

We've got a special treat for you! Rachel, the author of DIY Woven Art, will be turning our studio into a weaving wonderland for one very special workshop!

A little bit about Rachel:

I've been making stuff since I was old enough to use a glue stick. Sometimes I do it just for me, other times I do it for you. I love breaking a project down into steps for others that have the same innate desire to use their own creativity to enhance their lives. I've taught weaving through tutorials, workshops, and most recently my book, DIY Woven Art , and am fully committed to sharing these skills with the community at large. 

I believe in making time to make things. It's just good for you.

Paper Craft Pantry April ATX Book Club 1 Page A Day By Adam Kurtz

Join us for our monthly, complimentary community book club here at The Paper + Craft Pantry! For April's meeting, we'll be sitting down and chatting about the experience of daily creative journaling with Adam J. Kurtz's book "1 Page At A Time." This is a different book pick than our usual selection and you are welcome to share (if you want) what you feel comfortable sharing. 

You're invited to work through these pages at your own pace until our meeting-we're here to serve as your accountability partner in making journaling a part of your daily routine and habit!

Here at The Paper + Craft Pantry, we welcome everyone to be a part of our book club but we do require a complimentary RSVP via securing yourself a ticket as seats are limited. The Paper Wall Project


Paper Craft Pantry Paper Wall Art Installation Project Austin

In the spirit of #SXSW taking over Austin, we decided to up the ante and invite a few of our favorite designer friends to help us create an instagram-worthy wall in our studio!

Here's a little more on the artists behind The Paper Wall Project (from left to right):

Chelsea Laine Francis (@ohhhchelsea)

Chelsea is Creative Director at The Paper + Craft Pantry, as well as owner of Chelsea Laine Francis photography + creative. She moved to Austin, TX two years ago, hit the ground running, and hasn't stopped since. She's an extrovert through and through and loves meeting new people at coffee shops, but she also loves working from home alone while watching cheesy sitcoms + Shondaland shows. When she isn't furiously responding to emails (she's an inbox zero kinda gal!) she's fulfilling her childhood dream of being a photographer + getting to meet people from all over the United States. 

Denise Roberts (@withlovefromding)

One of the last "unicorns" left in Austin — she's a born and raised Austinite. Staging and Interiors is what she wants to do when she grows up (check out her awesome business/online store, Love Ding) and she tries to work toward and keep at her goals on a daily basis. She only writes on unlined paper and she drinks mimosas at night.

Pei Sim (@pspapershoppe)

In addition to being the founder and owner of The Paper + Craft Pantry, Pei is a self-declared paper hoarder and stationery aficionado since '94. Pei has always had a bit of a paper problem. She still uses a paper planner and usually has about 7 notebooks at any given time within arms reach. Besides paper, Pei is also really passionate about french fries.

Rachel Giberson (@rachelfromaustin)

A big thing of all things creative, she believes that making things is good for the soul. She spends most of her time adventuring with her two rad little boys and cool husband, but also finds time to build custom art installations. She loves doo-wop music and Alfred Hitchcock — and realizes that this makes her sound like a grandma.

Every month, we host a #penpalparty, which promotes the art of sending mail and creates awareness of the many great stationery designers there are in the world.

Join us in our studio for this complimentary stationery mixer where you'll get to meet fellow snail mail lovers, write on adorable cards and send someone some happy mail.
