Marketing Crash Course: Fundamentals of Marketing

You’re a small business owner and you’ve got this amazing product or service, but how do you ensure the right people are hearing about it? The idea of marketing is often misconstrued, and the time it takes to implement your strategies can be so overwhelming.

Join us for this FREE marketing workshop to learn about a holistic and authentic approach to marketing, which is critical for any small business living in the age of content marketing. Oh yeah - and what exactly is content marketing? We’ll dive into that, too!

You’ll leave with worksheets outlining the fundamental elements of marketing for you to work through at your own pace. You will then have the opportunity to work with Maggie in a 45-minute, 1-on-1 consultation in the weeks following the workshop to ensure you have clarity you need to move forward. Additionally, you’ll receive a list of resources to help you manage the day-to-day grind of an effective marketing plan.

Meet Maggie:

Maggie Miller is the founder of MaggieGentry, a one-woman business offering thought partnership & marketing strategy for creative brands. She works with designers, makers and creative entrepreneurs to discover their untapped potential, generate successful marketing campaigns, and feel better equipped to make smart business decisions.

Before starting MaggieGentry earlier this year, she worked at a few other jobs (including Marketing + Events Coordinator at TRIBEZA and establishing the Student Engagement Department at Texas Performing Arts at UT-Austin). Maggie grew up dancing and was involved in the community theater, so she’s always been connected to the arts and creative world. After pursuing a marketing degree, not finding the perfect fit at previous jobs, and beginning to work with a couple of clients on the side, she realized that her knowledge could be used to help other creatives make a viable business from their passion.

Other quick fun facts about Maggie:

  • Graduated from UT with a BBA in Marketing in 2009.

  • Danced professionally until 2012.

  • Lives in South Austin with her husband Austen and cat Waffles.

  • Loves rosé, avocado toast, tacos & queso (not always in that order).

  • Thoroughly enjoys meeting new people and helping them succeed. She’s really looking forward to meeting you!
