2018 Paper + Craft Pantry East Austin Studio Tour

Join us for weekend one of the 2018 East Austin Studio Tour!

Every year, we open up the workshop studio portion of our space and welcome in various artists to showcase their work. For each day of the tour, we will be featuring a different artist.

Come by to meet the talented artists, view their work and even participate in a complimentary interactive creative activity. The activity should take no more than 15-20 mins and is a great way for you to learn more about the artist’s process and choice of medium.

*While supplies last and limit one per person.

As always, our community events are complimentary to attend. We just ask that you RSVP below as well as share with your friends and family :)

Saturday, November 10th | Katie Johnson with Katie Made That

Katie Johnson is a letterer living in Austin, Texas. She is a huge fan of ornamentation and embellishment of any sort, (which you've probably noticed if you've taken a look at her work). In other important news, she is a proud cat mom (to two of her own and also to a constant stream of foster kittens) and a sucker for a competitive cooking show. And, at some point, she became the owner of two businesses: Katie Made That and The Monster Project

Sunday, November 11th | Anna Swanson with Demi & Olive

Ana Swanson’s love of color, pattern, texture, and nature inspires her to create small to large scale paintings on paper and canvas. The materials she uses are acrylic, pastel, oil sticks, and paper. Her process of layering color allows her to create unexpected, beautiful shapes while adding value and transformation. She goes back and forth between abstract painting, painting cactus, creating pattern-like artwork, and most recently she has been experimenting with dresses and people. Her experimenting with the abstract gives her energy and ideas for new work and new color palettes. She is also inspired by the color of the Texas landscape that is surrounded by the cactus plants, which symbolize endurance and stability.
